Day #1
My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways (James 1:2-8).
The Bible tells us to count it all joy when we face various kinds of trials. The testing of our faith produces patience, and we need patient endurance for every trial and struggle we face. We learn to trust Jesus. We can ask for wisdom for every trial, as well as wisdom on how to raise our children, how to navigate the season of having adult children, how to pray, and how to love the prodigals in our lives.
I'm delighted that you've signed up for the Challenge. Remember, you are not alone in this journey. We are here to pray together, to cry out to the Lord for the lives of our children. We are commanded to encourage each other and carry one another's burdens. Our prayer community is a source of strength and support.
Feel free to personalize the prayers by interchanging the names as needed. If you have multiple children, you can pray for each one individually. Sometimes, I will pray for my son or daughter, or all of my children at once, but you can change the names as you see fit to address the specific needs of your children. This flexibility is designed to empower you in your prayer journey as we rely on the Lord's strength to keep marching forward with patient endurance.
Let's Pray,
Lord Father God please give us Your everlasting joy no matter what trials we face or the trails and tribulations our children face teach us to have patient endurance, to trust You in every season of life. Thank You Lord that we can come to You and ask for wisdom please teach us to pray for our children effectively and specifically. Give us the wisdom we need to encourage them, to speak the truth in love to them and when communication is a problem with our children help us to trust You knowing You are working in their hearts even when we cannot see it. For we walk by faith and not by sight.
Lord, we lift up our children to You. We ask, we pray, we petition that their whole lives and hearts would be captivated by You. Strengthen them in the inner man. Please help them to be quick to hear what the Spirit of the Lord has to say to them. May they be slow to speak and slow to anger. Please soften their hearts, all for Your glory, so that they may live lives well pleasing to You. Convict my children of sin, break their hearts from what breaks Yours, James 1:21 states, "Therefore lay aside all filthiness and overflow of wickedness, and receive with meekness the implanted word, which is able to save your souls." Please, O LORD, bring to remembrance the scriptures, the worship song that used to delight their souls and give them sweet joy. Please, Lord, destroy the works of the enemy, let the fire of God fall upon the enemy's camp. Please rescue them out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Reveal to them their identity in Christ Jesus. Thank You, LORD, that You love them more than I ever could. In Your Holy Mighty Name we pray, Amen.
“Prayer makes the darkened cloud withdraw, Prayer climbs the ladder Jacob saw, Gives exercise to faith and love, Brings every blessing from above.”
-WILLIAM COWPER
May God's grace and peace be with you in abundance!
